A Birth Tourist is someone who comes to Alberta from outside Canada to give birth with no long-term intention to stay and does not have provincial health insurance issued by Alberta or any other Canadian Province.

An Uninsured Undocumented Resident of Alberta, is a person who has resided in the province for at least 12 months and does not have provincial health insurance coverage.
Alberta Zone Inc. Central Triage collects payment on behalf of Alberta physicians and has been adopted by jurisdictions in Alberta.
We are responsible for collecting the required documents, along with collecting an upfront deposit to cover physician fees incurred during the patient’s pregnancy and delivery.
BIRTH TOURIST PLEASE NOTE:
• Birth Tourist fees are consistent across the entire province of Alberta.
• Birth Tourist fees will be increased if payment is not made prior to delivery.
